Clue #1 of 5

on the western side of Africa is a place known for it's crash debris,
if you look from an aerial view, they are plain to see.

there are 3 visible wrecks in the area that once was hostile,
they were each shot down with a combat projectile.

most got out alive, but there were some unfortunate deaths,
a fire was the reason they took there very last breaths.
