Clue #1 of 8

Located near the middle of the world's most visited nation, this city is not the capital but it is almost as important. Known for its amazing cuisine (food) as well as its historical sites, this city specializes in sausage and offal. Historically, the city was a trading hub for beautiful silks. It is also home to a fantastic Amphitheater that dates back hundreds of years. It's not as grand as the Roman Coliseum or the Roman Forum, but its origins are the same, and it shows just how far those conquering armies traveled.

If you are looking on a map, Lake Leman will probably stand out as a prominent water feature (directly Northeast of your final spot), but the more important water landmark is actually the confluence (combining) of two major rivers: the Rhone and Saone.

If you find yourself visiting as a tourist, please know that you won't have too hard a time finding individuals who speak English, but the general preference is that everyone speak the language of the homeland. Lastly, this city is very easy to walk around, but its inhabitants are more likely to bicycle because this nation's climate goals include large limits on cars.
